Competency-based ministry training (Years 1-3)
At the Harvestime International Institute, our aim is to bring theological education and ministry training to people who are unable to attend a traditional Higher Education institution.

While we admire and endorse the efforts of traditional Bible Colleges and Seminaries, we also have a more ambitious aim, indeed a more profound commitment:
to train people within the walls of their own local church, and to provide relevant teaching materials and study options for Christians everywhere. At HVII, we consider the whole of the church environment to be part of our educational sphere. All its ministries - its worship, its witness, its fellowship and its teachings - are thus included in the training process by which men and women are equipped to serve Christ.

Our role is to serve local churches by offering a variety of theological and academic resources, while leaving the practical aspects of ministry training to pastors.

Our educational philosophy is expressed in both our teaching materials and assessments. It is based upon two basic principles:

1. Christian education must stand upon a strong theological foundation. We can refer to the injunctions and warnings regarding ‘sound doctrine’ in a number of passages. 1 Timothy 1:10 & 4:13; 2 Timothy 4:3; 2 Peter 2:1-3; 1 Corinthians 3:10-13, Jeremiah 6:16….etc.
2. Students must be encouraged to know God (not just to learn about Him) and the Curriculum must be consciously structured to achieve that excellent end.
Our goal is not just to impart knowledge. It is to teach principles of sound interpretation, that is, to show students who enrol on our courses how to do their own research and to contextualize the truths of Scripture in their own day-to-day experience. Our goal at HVII is ultimately to inspire, encourage and motivate men and women into effective Christian service, whatever the environment in which they may be called to minister.
